Paris ma nuit

Damian Lazarus - 14/11/2013
  • Damian Lazarus
  • Producer / Crosstown Rebels
  •     I try and stay away from the fried pigs brains.
  • Last time you played in Paris ? How was it ?
My last show in Paris was at the Social Club where I had never played before. It was really cool to come and play a much smaller venue to a room full of heads. I have been playing in Paris for some years and had some pretty incredible experiences, especially some of the Rebel Rave events we have put on around the city.
  • When was your first concert/DJ set in Paris ?
I think the very first show was at La Scene in the Bastille, probably around 10 years ago now. It would be fair to say a lot has happened since then.
  • Favorite venues ?
My favorite parties have been at Cabaret Sauvage and the We Love Rebels party at Cite de la Musique and of course my regular parties at the Rex have all been amazing, especially my debut album launch party back in 2010.
  • Your favorite hotels in Paris ?
Im a big fan of the Place des Vosges hotel, just love the way its set back behind one of my favorite squares in the city. I like it there and the people at the Hotel Amore have always looked after me very well.
  • The last good restaurant you've discovered in Paris ?
I quite like Derriere for an informal, easy dinner with friends but essentially I'll go anywhere where there is a decent steak tartare.
  • Your best kept secret bars you go to before or after your show ?
To be honest by the time I finish playing there is not much choice, but on the odd occasion that I'm hungry after a party, I like to go to Au Pied de Cochon, however I try and stay away from the fried pigs brains.
  • How would you describe the parisian crowd ?
Sexy, chic and up for it !
  • Some parisian/french singers/groups you've recently listened to and liked ?
Do Edith Piaf and Charlotte Gainsbourg count?
  • Your next releases, remixes, tour, gigs in Paris ?
I am in the process of working on my second album and hope to deliver it to the world in 2014.
